| Action within the saxphone section: Anja and Christoph are new musicians and are sitting now in the band's front row.
Anja is from Baiersdorf and was thought there by our saxophonist Tobi.
With Christoph the band got a real instrument maker.
Completely restructured the section looks now like that:

1. tenor saxophone: Tobias Dräger
2. tenor saxophone: Anja Pohan

The Swingaraiders Bigband was formed in 2001 and is made up of around 20 musicians of all ages ranging from 17- 27.
Totally conform to the original "old" Bigbands of the 20's and 40's the Band consists of 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 5 trumpets and a rhythm-section containing 5 people.
The ensemble is completed by a female and a male vocalist. The heart of the repertoire mainly are songs of the kings of swing like Glenn Miller or Duke Ellington. Numerous Rock'n'Roll Funk and Retro-Swing titles are part of the programm as well, supplemented by the hits of the Blues Brothers, well-known soundtracks and unforgotten classics.
With that diversified repertoire the Swingaraiders Bigband covers a period of 70 years. Therefore and because of their impressive and humorous shows everybody is enthusiastic either within private party engagements up tp jazz-club atmospheres or urban and open air events.
